About the Program - The Intelsat Africa Space STEM Program 2025 shifts from focusing on individual students to empowering schools and educators, ensuring long-term impact and scalability. The program provides STEM kits, training, and resources to integrate space science and sustainability education into school curricula.

Schools: 12 participating schools

By equipping teachers with the necessary tools and knowledge, the program fosters a sustainable educational model that continues beyond its initial implementation.

What Schools Receive - Each participating school receives:

10 MaxIQ Space STEM Kits

2 Advanced Sensor Add-on Kits

Custom accessories and spare parts

Pre-loaded STEM kit Arduino code for easy setup

Classroom support materials, stickers, and swag

These kits allow for hands-on learning in space technology, sustainability, and IoT applications.

Support for Educators - Educators gain access to:

📌 Lesson plans, experiment guides, and video tutorials

📌 Workshops led by Intelsat engineers & industry experts

📌 Opportunities to connect with global STEM communities

In addition, program alumni will mentor students and assist in facilitating workshops.

Hands-On Learning & Challenges - Students will participate in real-world STEM challenges that align with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These include:

🌍 Climate Action – Monitoring local environmental data & comparing with satellite data

🔋 Clean Energy – Understanding solar energy & designing sustainable solutions

🏙 Smart Cities & IoT – Developing data-driven innovations for urban and agricultural use

🛰 Space & Connectivity – Exploring real-world applications of satellite technology

Teachers will have interactive dashboards to analyze data collected from experiments, showcasing the power of connectivity in STEM education.
