UNICEF Mega-Challenge - SDG 13 Climate Action

In collaboration with the UNICEF, we are hosting challenges for individuals, groups, science clubs and schools.

Challenge - SDG 13 Climate Action

What is the challenge?
In this challenge we learn about climate action and how to combine concepts, collect and analyse data and report on findings and data analysis. The challenge is for you to design a project that links to at least two Sustainable Development Goals. The project must include the development of research questions, data collection, analysis and interpretation and the presentation of results and recommendations.

How do we tackle this challenge?

  • Preparation - You will be supported through this challenge, and we will provide background information and support, to give context to this challenge.
  • Part 1 – Identify the sustainable development challenges you'd like to tackle, linked to climate action. Design your research project, the research questions, methods and timeline.
  • Part 2 – collect your data:
    • Assemble the MaxIQ kits you will use to collect your data, configure these and build your Kibana data dashboard to suit your research project
    • Extract 24 hours of data from your kits and determine the reliability of the data. Is your data reliable enough? Do you need to change your kit installations to make the data more dependable?
    • Collect data for a period suitable for your research project
  • Part 3 - complete your research project, your report should include recommendations can you make to ensure that life on our planet is sustainable, in line with achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 13?
